What is HTML?
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. HyperText Markup Language is a language used to create web documents (webpages). It includes text, images, audio, video, formatting, and hyperlinks to web documents.
It’s a file format that instructs a device about how to view a web page.
In other words, HTML language isn’t a programing language, it’s a markup language.
What is CSS?
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets
Cascading: If you have more than one style rule, cascading is the process that decides which style can apply to a particular segment.
Style: refers to how you want a particular section of your page to appear. Color, borders, font, and other formatting options are available for tables, paragraphs, and headings.
Sheets: Sheets serve as models or guidelines for deciding how the webpage will appear.
Building Your First Web Page
Before we start our journey about the way to build websites with HTML and CSS, it’s important to understand the difference between the two languages.
HyperText Markup Language provides content structure and meaning by defining that content as, as an example, headings, paragraphs, or images.
Mainly, CSS is a presentation language created to style the looks of content-using, for instance, fonts or colors.
In other words, HTML will always represent the website content, and CSS will always represent the looks of that content.
Where we can create an HTML Document?
We can create HTML documents by using any text editor.
Some most ordinarily used text editor is
- Notepad (Windows)
- WordPad (Windows)
- SimpleText (Macintosh)
Structure of HTML
An HTML document has two main parts:
Head : The head element contains the title and metadata of an online document.
Body : The body element contains the data that you simply want to display on an online page.
