FAQs

Being "in the cloud" means that the Google leases server ("cloud" space) to provide similar functionality, rather than managing and maintaining your physical data center.

You can use your Google login, not associated with the Google Cloud Platform, to log in to your existing AllHeart account or create a new AllHeart Web account. However, you don't need a Google account and you can use your AllHeart Web log in information to log in to AllHeart Web.

At this time, no integrated feature allows you to view AllHeart Web notes from Google products.

The AllHeart Web security team has conducted an extensive security review of Google’s internal security practices and Google Cloud Platform. We believe that the safety and security of Google Cloud meet or exceed our safety standards.

As a cloud provider, Google is subject to strict security and legal obligations that limit Google's access to AllHeart Web data. The data you enter into AllHeart Web is yours. Except to fulfill our contractual obligations, Google will not process your data for any purpose.

To create buckets, store data, or control who can access your data, you must enable Cloud Storage and Enable billing.

In this case, another individual has already set up a Google Cloud project to add you as a member of the project team or grant permissions to their buckets and objects. In general, you can read and write data depending on the permissions you have granted to authenticate to your Google account.

Cloud storage is designed for 99.999% annual durability, ideal for primary storage and business-critical applications. This level of durability is provided by Eraser encoding, which stores data redundantly among multiple devices in multiple Availability Zones. Before verifying writes, objects created in Cloud Storage must be copied in at least 2 free spaces. Checksums detect data integrity of all stored, periodically revalidated, and stored data. It will be corrected automatically with redundant data if necessary. Customers can optionally enable the versioning of objects to add protection against accidental deletion.

If high availability is paramount, consider storing your data in a multi-region or dual-region bucket location. This stores data in at least two geographically separated regions, providing continuous availability in the event of an outage across the region, including due to natural disaster. All data is stored geographically redundantly in these types of locations, regardless of storage class, so you can use storage lifecycle management without giving up high availability.

Cloud Storage always provides a strongly consistent list of objects in a single bucket, even for buckets where data is replicated across multiple regions. This means that the RTO is zero in most situations for geographically redundant storage locations. If the entire region is stopped, the existing buckets are still available and there is no need to change the storage path. Also, be aware that you need to set up geographically redundant compute instances, so that you can keep your service up and running even when certain regions are offline.

In Cloud Storage, the location where you store your data depends on the location of the bucket where your data is located.

You can only delete an object after it has fulfilled its retention period. If you do not lock the bucket, you can temporarily remove the retention policy to remove objects and revoke the retention policy.
